The Challenge

I was presented with the task of transforming the surface of a metal louvre, which is part of a façade of a new building – One Seaport. The louvre faces a small pedestrian plaza, and it serves as the exhaust for an underground garage.

The Outcome

I worked with Lisbon-based Half Studio and Puerto-Rico-based Justkids and created a mural using the metal louvre as its canvas. Coining a catchphrase for all of the neighborhood, the “Boston is the new Boston” mural is urban style with sentiment. The street art extends exuberance across the neighborhood and celebrates all the slogan embodies – Boston as one of the oldest yet contemporary cities in the country.
